Lieutenant General John Gardner
Jack Gardner served in command positions in Europe, Latin America, Korea, Bosnia, Iraq and numerous locations in the US. In his final assignment he served as the Deputy Commander of U.S. European Command in Stuttgart, Germany and the US military forces stationed throughout Europe. He retired from the Army in May 2012.
He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a Masters degree from Georgetown University. He also completed a year-long Advanced Leadership Initiative Fellowship at Harvard University and attended the Singularity University Executive Program at NASA Research Park, Moffett Field, CA.
A native of Columbus, Ohio and a life-long Ohio State football fan, he lives in Alexandria, Virginia. His current focus is in two areas - 1) how to measurably improve economic opportunity for all young Americans by linking public education, job skill development, and the evolving job market, and 2) the development of artificial intelligence tools to provide real-time access to practical knowledge.
