Brigadier General Jasper Jeffers
BG Jasper Jeffers graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1996 and was commissioned as an Infantry officer. His first assignment was Rifle Platoon Leader and Operations Officer in 4-31 Infantry Regiment, Fort Drum, NY. He then served as a Platoon Leader and Executive Officer in 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia.
After Infantry Officer Advanced Course graduation in Fort Benning, Georgia, he was stationed to Fort Lewis, Washington serving as a Company Commander and Air Operations Officer in 1-5 Infantry, 1/25 SBCT. BG Jeffers then served as a Company Commander and Air Operations Officer in 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, and deployed multiple times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
Following the US Army Command and General Staff Officer's Course at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, BG Jeffers was assigned to the US Army Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg, NC where he held various leadership and command positions. These included Troop Command, Squadron Command, and Deputy Brigade Commander, while deployed multiple times in support of Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
BG Jeffers next attended Senior Service College at Duke University, North Carolina. He then assumed command of 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd ID, 7th Infantry Division. Upon completion of brigade command, BG Jeffers deployed to Afghanistan to serve as an Advisor to the Commander of Operation Resolute Support. He then returned to Fort Bragg, NC and assumed command of a Brigade within the US Army Special Operations Command and deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, Iraq/Syria.
His awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star with Valor, Bronze Star with two OLC, Meritorious Service Medal with one OLC, Joint Service Commendation Medal with one OLC, Army Commendation Medal with four bronze OLC, Army Achievement Medal with two OLC, the Combat Infantry Badge, Expert Infantry Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Military Free Fall Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, and Ranger Tab.
